Will of Isaac Vinson
Sussex Co., Delaware
July 16, 1835


In the name of God Amen, I, Isaac Vinson of Little Creek hundred in the County of Sussex & State of Delaware being sick & weak in body but of a sound mind memory and understanding the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof and to the end that I may be the better prepared to leave this world when ever it shall please God to call me hence I do therefore make and declare this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following. That is to say,

First I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator hoping for free pardon & remission of all my Sins my body I commit to the Earth at the discretion of my Executors herein after mentioned and Secondly my will is that all my just debts, if any, and funeral charges be paid out of my personal Estate.

Thirdly, I give and bequeath unto my eldest daughter Betsey Morriss wife of Lee Morriss the sum of Forty Dollars current money of the United States which sum I order to be paid to the said Betsey Morriss or her legal representatives as follows viz Ten Dollars to be paid within twelve calendar months next after my decease and Ten Dollars more within twenty four months next after my decease and Ten Dollars each year for four years from my decease and no more of my Estate forever.

Fourthly, I give and bequeath to my daughter Peggy Vinson all my lands that I now own together with all and singular the rights privileges rents and profits with all the appertainences thereunto belonging during her natural life or until her intermarriage and at her decease or intermarriage which ever first may be to my grand son Thomas P. Morris his heirs and assigns forever.

Fifthly, I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah Badley the wife of James W. Badley one desk, I also give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah Badley as aforesaid the sum of seventy five dollars in ? to be paid out of my Estate within four years from my decease.

Sixthly, I give and bequeath to my daughter Peggy Vinson and my grand son Thomas P. Morris all the residue of my personal estate equally between them both after paying all legacies funeral charges & heretofore mentioned or bequeathed & devised.

Seventhly and lastly, I do hereby constitute and appoint my daughter Peggy Vinson my whole and sole Executrix of this my last will and testament and I do hereby utterly ? revoke and make null and void all other will or wills heretofore by me made hereby ratifing and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto my hand set and affixed my seal this the sixteenth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five. 1835.
