Will of Ahab Costin
Somerset Co., Maryland
October 2, 1756


In the Name of God Amen I Ahab Costin of Somerset County Maryland being through the abundent Mercy and goodness of God Weak in Body yet of a sound and perfect understanding and Memory do make this my last Will and Testament as followeth

Imprimis I give & bequeave to my wellbeloved wife In the year 1756 October the 2nd day - I give and bequeath to my wellbeloved wife Abigil Costin all my personal Estate Goods and Chattels dureing hur widdowhood and after hur widowhood

I give and bequeath to my wellbeloved son Ahab Costen one Negro Man named Frost to him and his heirs for Ever

I give and bequeath to my son Oliver Costin my Still head and worm to him and his heirs for Ever

I give and bequeath to Benjamin Cottman one hundred Acars of Land called Costens Vineyard whereon he now lives to him his heirs or asseigns forever

June 17th 1762 Came Isaac Costin and Ambrose Fitzwaters and made oath on the Holy Evangells of Almighty God that they saw the Testator Ahab Costin sign and seal and heard him publish pronounce and declare the within Instrument of Writing as his Last Will and Testament and that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehension of sound and disposeing mind memory and understanding and that they the said Isaac Costin and Ambrose Fitzwaters Subscribed as witnesses in the presence and at the request of the Testator Ahab Costin

Sworn to before Nehemiah King - Deputy Com. of Somerset Co.

June the 29th 1762 Came Abigail Costin before me the subscriber and made her Election on this Will and desires to be concluded by the third of both real and personal Estate
