Deed of William Taylor from Levin Taylor
Somerset Co., Maryland
June 25, 1817


This indenture made this twenty fifth day of June in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and seventeen between Levin Taylor of Somerset County in the Sate of Maryland of the one part and William Taylor of the County and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said Levin Taylor for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars current money of the United States to him in hand paid by the said William Taylor before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof he the said Levin Taylor doth hereby acknowledge and from every part and parcel thereof doth hereby acquit exonerate and discharge the said William Taylor his heirs executors and administrators he the said Levin Taylor hath granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said William Taylor his heirs and assigns all the following Tracts or part of Tracts or parcels of land lying and being in Somerset County on the (South?) side of the following line viz a Tract or parcel of land called Williams Adventure and part of one other tract of land called Sallys Lot and part of one other tract of land called Virnis and also part of one other tract of land called Taylors Intent which is bounded as followeth

Beginning at a marked pine post setup on or near a line of a tract of land called Darbys Addition and from thence runing north thirty four poles to a pine post thence north seventy one degrees and forty minutes east fifty six poles and two thirds of a pole to a marked post set up thence north sixteen degrees and thirty minutes east fifteen poles and one half pole to a marked pine thence north sixty six degrees east till it intersects a tract of land called Taylors Addition together with all and singular the buildings improvements woods ways waters water courses rights liberties priviledges hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversions and remaining ??????? thereof and all the estate right title and interest whatsoever of him the said Levin Taylor both at law and in equity of in to and out of the said tracts or parts of tracts or parcels of land and premises hereby bargained and sold or meant mentioned or intended hereby so to be and every or any part and parcel thereof to have and to hold the said tracts or parts of tracts or parcels of land so as aforesaid described called Williams Adventure Sallys Lot Virnis and Taylors Intent or by whatsoever name or names the same may be called. Together with the buildings and appurtenances and all and singular other the premises hereby bargained and sold ??? mentioned or intended hereby so to be and every part and parcel thereof with their and every of their appurtenances unto the said William Taylor his heirs and assigns forever and to and for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever and the said Levin Taylor for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth hereby covenant grant promise and agree to and with the said William Taylor his heirs and assigns that he the said Levin Taylor and his heirs the said tracts or parts of tracts or parcels of land and premises hereby granted bargained and sold and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances hereunto belonging to him the said William Taylor his heirs and assigns against him the said Levin Taylor and his heirs and against all and every person or persons whatsoever claiming or to claim any right title or interest in and to the same or any part thereof shall and will hereafter warrant and forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof the said Levin Taylor hath hereunto subscribed his name and affixed his seal the day and year first herein before written

Be it remembered on this twenty fifth day of June in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and seventeen personally appears Levin Taylor party grantor mentioned in the within deed or instrument of writing before us the subscribers two of the Justices of the peace for the State of Maryland for Somerset County and acknowledges the within deed or instrument of writing to be his act and deed and the lands and premises therein mentioned.
