Deed of Henry Walker

This Indenture made this Second day of May Anno Dom Seventeen hundred and ninety nine. Between Henry Walker of Somerset County & State of Maryland of the one part and Solomon Robertson of the same County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Henry Walker for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds current money of Maryland to him in hand paid by the aforesaid Solomon Robertson the receipt whereof he the aforesaid Henry Walker doth hereby acknowledge, and that he said Henry Walker hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents Doth grant bargain and sell allien confirm and convey unto him the aforesaid Solomon Robertson his heir and assigns forever all his right, title, Interest and claim in and to part of a tract of Land called Robertson's Delight, agreeable to a Deed of Conveyance thereof from John Robertson Senr. to the said Walker bearing date the fourteenth day of March Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and ninety four recourse thereto being had may and will more fully appear excepting to the aforesaid Henry Walker Sixty feet Square around the grave of his Daughter which is now buried on the premises aforesaid and by the Deed the aforesaid Sixty feet Square is not conveyed nor intended to be coveyed the whole of the aforesighted Deed containing eight acres and one quarter of an acre of Land more or less. To have and to hold the aforesaid Land as aforesaid with all and singular the appurtenance thereto belonging. The graveyard only excepted as aforesaid with remainder and remainder of all and singular the Land & Tenements hereby granted bargained and sold or intended to be sold and every part and parcel thereof unto him the aforesaid Solomon Robertson his heirs and assigns forever and to and forever their use intent or purpose whatsoever and he the aforesaid Henry Walker for himself and his heirs doth covenant and agree to and with the aforesaid Solomon Robertson his heirs and assigns that he the aforesaid Henry Walker and his heirs that against him and against his heirs and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever lawfully claiming any Estate right, title or Interest in the same from ? or under him the aforesaid Henry Walker or his heirs that they will forever warrant and defend the same unto him the aforesaid Solomon Robertson his heirs and assigns forever. In Witness whereof the aforesaid Henry Walker to these present my hand have set and Seal affixed the day and year first above written.

Be it remembered that on the day and year first with written personally appeared before us two of the Justices of the peace for Somerset County the within named Henry Walker and did acknowledge the within Deed and the Land and premises within mentioned to be the Estate right title and Interest of the within named Solomon Robertson his heirs and assigns forever agreeable to the true intent and meaning of the within Deed and agreeable to an Act of Assembly in such cases made and provided Also came before us Esther Ann Walker wife of the within Henry Walker being privately examined out of the hearing of her husband & did release her right of Dower to the within Lands & premises agreeable to an Act of Assembly in such case made & provided

June the Twenty fourth day Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and ninety nine. Then was delivered unto me the subscriber the foregoing Deed in order to be enrolled among the Records of Somerset County which said Deed together with the acknowledgement thereof thereon indexed are accordingly Recorded among the Same Records in Liber L, folio 467, 468.
